Racism

Racism. This is a very hot topic that the youth love to discuss about. Racism still exists today and not many knows when we will see the end of it. Especially when you're an indian born in Malaysia. Many got discriminated, even the constitution discriminates us and even the Chinese gets discriminated, we aren't the only ones. In a worldwide scale, the problems had reduced alarmingly over the years in the western civilizations but not in the eastern civilization. Don't believe me? Look at out government, look at the Sri Lankan government and you can also look at the racism in Israel.

I'm not gonna go too deeply about it in asia, instead let's talk about it in Malaysia. This is very controversial indeed. Everyone knows that the Malays gets more privilege on almost everything from the country compared to the non Muslims. Ask any Indian fellas and they will say they aren't given any chance to do any shit in this country. Then what happened to the students that filled the quota?? Half of them graduated locally and got a good job (god bless them) but the other half fled the country in search of a better lifestyle.

So even the bright students in our society has left us to rot in the country. And then there is another issue of the skin color. You may see some Indian girls now, they will talk highly about racial equality and democracy but next thing you know they are at the pharmacy looking for fair and lovely. Even the guys, they see a dark skinned lady and the try to avoid. Wtf is their problem?? They aren't even proud of their own heritage that's their problem. How on earth can you demand for equality when you yourself dislike the color of your skin.

Obama recently visited Malaysia. He agreed that the government ain't doing enough for the minorities. Mr Obama was right. But let's take him as an example. He became the first black president of America. His achievement itself is a monumental victory against racism. Did you ever see the African americans heading to the pharmacy to get fair and lovely??. They were proud of themselves. Wherever they went they were always saying Black and Proud or Black Power. They had the pride of a lion in them and that itself has helped them fight racism.

What can we Indians do to fight racism?? First of all we all should be proud of our heritage. Be proud of the color of your skin. Treat your own people with respect, don't look down at them because they were from another caste that's like racism against your own. Treat your people like they are family don't drag them down. Help your brothers and sisters never fight amongst yourself. What can be done next is to treat every other race with the equal amount if respect. Don't do onto them what they done onto you. Learn to treat them as your brother instead of two distant strangers. We have to rise together with them. Everyday is a struggle but slowly we can achieve equality, we just need to learn to respect each other.

We can only achieve success if and only if we can change ourselves to be better. Take the African Americans as an example to fight racism. That's all from me today. Your feedbacks are most welcomed. Till the next time.
